This laptop is powerful, has lots of features and is better than I expected. Jury is still out on Vista, but the laptop is great. I did have trouble with the wireless dropping out way too frequently and I haven't figured out if it is the wireless card or Vista. I moved a laptop with XP out of the same location and didn't have a problem. All drivers up to date for wireless and router. In any event, I have the latop connected via LAN card and shut off the wireless as it was not a problem running a cable to it. Wireless connection is frustrating! No problems with LAN connection. I gave "Quality" a 4 due to the wireless problem.

I was looking for a basic laptop I could use for, work, down loading music, email, and searching the web. The Toshiba works great for all that.
This is my first laptop and for the price I paid for it($599.00) I'm very happy with it overall. A couple of minor problems though. The dvd/cd drive would not work right out of the box. Had to call toshiba support to get it fixed. They were very helpful and it only took a few minutes on the phone. They had me delete some filters in the registry and then the drive worked.The other thing I don't like is the ac adapter gets very hot in a short period of time. Also, it comes loaded with a bunch of software you don't need. However, in spite of all that I like the machine and probably will get one for my wife since she has been asking for a laptop.
